Researches about life and thoughts of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Turkish Republic and glimmering symbol of the “modern Turkey” ideal, have significantly increased in recent years. Of course numerousness of the researches is a positive development in terms of public outreach of information and thoughts about this great leader's life. Besides, Atatürk must be “truly” comprehended and “truly” explained to public.

So it is essential that researches are based on “true” and “reliable” resources. In this context, to comprehend and explain Atatürk, it is imperative to rely on evidence based authentic documents in presenting the developments which helped transform Mustafa Kemal into Atatürk and the formation of his great “genius”.

Undoubtedly, Atatürk's “passion of reading” and “love of books” which started in his childhood and increasingly continued in coming years to the extent an obsession, appear as the most important sources fostering his genius.

Atatürk is a statesman who reads and writes. And this is what makes him “great”.
